Feldenkrais Learning Centre

It was a full house of 14 members who met in July for a day session led by Assistant Trainer, Janet Auret.  Our August meeting coming up on 23rd is led by Lesley McLennan. Participants express their enjoyment and appreciation of the learning they experience each month.  Any practitioners/students travelling through are welcome to be in touch and join in.

Sunday Study Sessions

We are continuing to explore the lessons in “Teaching By Handling” with Yochanan Rywerant. The lessons have given us the opportunity to explore new connections and to learn some anatomy! The next Sunday Study Session is on 24th of August followed by 21st of September at Mitcham Community House from 1-4pm. Free for AFG members and $30 for non-members.

Meeting the Unknown

Many thanks to Zoran Kovich for his generous teaching at this post- graduate workshop. It was a much-needed opportunity for the community to connect; a factor that was greatly appreciated by the group. There was a wide range of experience in the room with practitioners from some of the earliest training programs all the way to the most recent. Zoran’s teaching resonated with every one of us and fostered a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. Many thanks to all those that participated in the workshop and a big thank you to Naomi Richards for getting this off the ground.

WA

AFGWA has been very busy... We have just wrapped up an amazing weekend with Susan Hillier visiting from Adelaide. The Advanced Training, "Pain in the Foreground and Background", saw 25 practitioners in attendance, and a rich and inspiring two days exploring recent pain research, ATMs and valuable FI practice. This was followed by a Public Workshop where we welcomed 85 members of the public (and practitioners) who spent the day (at UWA's stunning campus) exploring walking - Nature’s Perfect Exercise. Both events were supported by a strong team of volunteers whose time and effort were instrumental in the workshops being a resounding success.

A group of practitioners from WA and interstate are about to set off on the Cape to Cape walk tomorrow. Then 14th of September will be the final ATM Masterclass with Elizabeth Beringer. (Details on AFG website under Events) As well, we are beginning to firm up plans for 2026 which will begin with an Advanced Training and Public Workshop with Zoran Kovich in February.
