About the event

Many people have problems, issues, injuries or dysfunctions that centre on the pelvis. How can we help with Feldenkrais?

In this Advanced Training, I will present resources and practical explorations that will equip you to present ATMs and workshops with a pelvis-focussed theme.

The pelvis is central to any significant human movement and so it’s hard to find an ATM that DOESN’T include the pelvis.

However, we can make actions of the pelvis, pelvic floor and related areas the focus of an ATM or a workshop (or an FI). In this AT there will be discussion, information and examples of pelvic anatomy and function, recommended ATMs, consent, clarifying boundaries and practical experience of several shorter ATMs.

I have been teaching Feldenkrais almost continuously since starting ATM teaching in 1988. In these decades, I have explored many themes and interests in my Feldenkrais work. In recent years, I have taken a particular interest in Feldenkrais for the pelvis and pelvic floor and have presented many workshops on this theme. I have written a book which I’m currently preparing for publication, Your 14 Day Pelvis Program.

I believe many Feldenkrais practitioners could be (and many are) providing valuable service to the community with pelvis-focussed Feldenkrais work - the knowledge and skills are there in our training and practice. This training will provide you with the confidence and resources to do so.

Cost: $20 for AFG members  /  $50 for non-members

This is the first of a series of Mini Online Advanced Trainings that will run fortnightly, from early June to mid-July.

These two-hour online Advanced Trainings will be presented by four highly experienced Assistant Trainers from the AFG Victorian Division.

You will get to experience Feldenkrais through the unique perspective of each presenter, with the knowledge and experience they will share with us.

You’re welcome to meet in groups of two or more to do the Advanced Training with other practitioners, to enhance your learning experience.

Here is a preview of the rest of the series:
