Sally Low has been a Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1991 and a Physiotherapist since 1982. She is also a Creative Movement and Dance Educator and Dance Therapist.
She runs a private Feldenkrais practice in Newport, Melbourne and in Geelong. She sees individuals and runs group classes. She assists adults, adolescents and children with their rehabilitation needs. Her expertise lies in improving function due to pain, injury, ageing or illness. With children and adolescents she assists with sensory motor, postural and developmental concerns, body image and body awareness issues.
She has worked in physical rehabilitation in hospital and community settings and private practice. She brings an understanding of the medical and complimentary health systems that individuals are required to navigate when faced with injury, pain or physical and developmental limitation.
Sally enables her clients to establish rehabilitation goals that are achievable, meaningful and relevant to their lives. For example children have specific goals that need to be achieved within the context of their family and educational settings.
Sally also believes that emotional aspects of rehabilitation need to be interwoven with a client’s physical rehabilitation. That there is a process of listening to the client’s history to understand how the loss of functioning has impacted on their life. Rehabilitation is aimed at the integration of emotional and physical wellbeing.
Sally believes that the Feldenkrais Method provides a holistic and integrated way to assist her clients with their needs. She draws on her physiotherapy and dance therapy knowledge to structure a comprehensive rehabilitation program. She believes that successful rehabilitation requires a program that needs to be constantly reviewed and adjusted to provide increasing challenges and problem solving skills to meet the changing demands through life.
