Day 1 - Breath and Voice

Georgi Laney & Brad Thompson, Feldenkrais Practitioners, discuss the intimately connected system of body, breath and voice in this engaging, informative and experiential interview. Join them as they discuss the inter-dependent relationship between postural habits, breathing and voice and its impact on everyday functioning. The interviewers also lead listeners through some snippets of Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons, providing opportunities for personal embodied experience. May this interview provoke your curiosity and a desire for further exploration and learning.




Brad Thompson 

Brad Thompson is a Tai Chi Master and Feldenkrais Practitioner. Brad began training in Chinese Martial art in 1978 and in 1982 moved to Melbourne to teach Tai Chi Chuan. Founded The Tai Chi and Qigong Academy in 1987 with 2000 students across Victoria. Graduated Brisbane 1 Feldenkrais Training in 1993, moved to the Gold Coast and began working with The Golden Door Health Retreat. Lived and taught on the Coast for 20 years developing the Breath for Life Breathing Meditation program and authoring ‘The Breathing Book A Practical Guide to Natural Breathing’. In 2015 Brad moved to Newcastle where he lives and works at the now ‘Elysia Wellness Retreat’ in the Hunter Valley.


Georgi Laney


Georgi Laney is both a Feldenkrais Practitioner and Speech Pathologist. She has also been an enthusiastic amateur musician since childhood. She brings to her practice her extensive experience working in the health/hospital system. Georgi loves to facilitate a transformative journey of personal growth, self-confidence and vitality in her clients: through empowered ease in body, mind and voice. 

Georgi is passionate about working with groups and has presented workshops for musicians, teachers and health care professionals alike. She runs a vibrant studio both online and locally in Newcastle NSW, called Move To Vitality.
