How Holly works: On contact, we make an initial appointment to discuss general concepts and the presenting condition, difficulties, wishes, goals and requests and have a hands on experience of the Feldenkrais Method®. The outcome of this will determine ongoing work which may be a short (4 to 6 sessions) or ongoing programme. We will also be discussing materials to borrow, resources and participation in ATM classes were appropriate. Holly's practice core beliefs are to meet someone where they are, make contemporary concepts clear, active listening and offer the work in a very gentle systematic manner that leads people to really engage with the essential elements of the Feldenkrais Methodology and practice. In this way, once people's interest is engaged, Holly supports them in applying the work in their everyday life and thereby having the opportunity to realize more of their potential to lead a full and rich life. She retains her passion for the ability of a person to generate choice and change for themselves no matter how complex and difficult their situation is. She is consistently satisfied about the advances in neuroscience proving that the brain can change itself (neuroplasticity) the implications of which can lead people to unforeseen and sometimes rapid improvement, hope and greater autonomy. Holly is particularly skilled in recognised patterns of movements and sees herself as a pattern detector analysing how complex patterns of the body and mind become habituated and rigid in someone self image. Another key of Holly's approach is to assist people to create and sustain the changes they wish to make, as they engage in the process of adaptation to their ongoing life situations and come to realise their vowed and unavowed dreams.
