Parkinson's

Feldenkrais and seniors

At the age of 75, I was diagnosed with the rigid form of Parkinsons’ disease. I wasn’t in pain but I was getting very slow and stiff, and shuffling my feet as I walked. On my daughters’ recommendation, I started going to my local practitioner for some Feldenkrais lessons.

The Method has helped to straighten me up, pick up my feet and improve my balance. I wake with dreadful headaches and the lessons help that too. My movements are so much more flexible so my daily routines are easier. I can even put my pants on without hanging on to anything!

Finding Comfort - a testimonial from a woman with Parkinson's.

"I first heard about the Feldenkrais Method® from a practitioner who gave a presentation to my Parkinson's Support Group. I had not met her before. She was so balanced and serene, and moved with grace that evidenced inner joy. Just how she achieved this state interested me.
